Stuart's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was commissioned by the violinist Paul Barrett and premiered sensationally by him with the Southbank Sinfonia in the summer of 2005 at St John's Waterloo. It's finally having another outing, with Paul as the soloist again, but this time with St Paul's Sinfonia, conducted by Andy Morley, who recently premiered Stuart's new score to the Buster Keaton silent film One Week.
The concert features in a colourful programme that includes Dvorak and Glinka and is happening at St Alfege Church, Greenwich (near the Cutty Sark) on Friday October 21st at 7.30pm.

This is an absolute gem of an animated short film from director Neil Boyle, whose credits include Roger Rabbit, Space Jam and Jungle Book 2. It recounts the perils and pitfalls of an internet date, with all 35,000 frames hand-drawn and hand-painted with brilliant detail and humour - this is animation at its old-fashioned finest. Stuart composed a colourful orchestral score for it, which was recently recorded in Slovakia with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, and the film is an Official Selection at the BFI London Film Festival and Paris Film Festival.
Screening at the BFI Southbank on Tuesday October 18th at 4pm (in NFT2) and Sunday October 23rd at 6.30pm
